The terms your school agrees to by using School Straits.
Last updated October 30, 2026
These terms govern use of School Straits — the web platform and the Android and iOS apps — by a school and the staff, students and guardians it gives access to. By creating an account, or by using an account your school has created for you, you agree to these terms.
School Straits is school management software: attendance, fees and accounting, homework, examinations, transport, hostel, library and the other modules included in your school's plan. A school administers its own accounts, records and the people it invites to use them.
Your school's administrator creates and manages accounts for its staff, students and guardians, and is responsible for who it invites and for keeping sign-in details reasonably secure. If you are given an account by your school, you are responsible for what happens under it, and should tell your school promptly if you believe it has been accessed by someone else.
A new school can try School Straits free for a limited trial period, with access to every module up to the trial's own student and staff limits. No payment is taken to start a trial, and a trial never automatically becomes a paid subscription: to continue afterwards, a school chooses and pays for a plan.
Paid plans are billed in advance for a fixed term (currently annual), in the currency and amount shown at checkout, and processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay; School Straits never sees or stores your card or bank details. A subscription does not renew or charge automatically — when a paid term ends, the school chooses to buy a new one to continue. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for how refunds and cancellations work.
School Straits may only be used for legitimate school administration. You agree not to use it unlawfully, to attempt to access data or accounts you are not authorised for, to disrupt or attack the service, or to upload content the school does not have the right to hold.
The records a school enters — student, staff, fee and academic data — belong to the school. School Straits processes that data to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy, and does not claim ownership of it. A school is responsible for having the right to enter the personal data of its staff, students and guardians into the platform, including any parental or guardian consent required.
The School Straits software, its design and its branding remain the property of School Straits or its licensors. These terms give your school the right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of it.
We aim to keep School Straits available and working correctly, but the service is provided "as is", without a guaranteed uptime, except where a separate written agreement with your school says otherwise. Planned maintenance and updates may occasionally interrupt access.
To the extent permitted by law, School Straits is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees your school paid in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
We may suspend or end access to an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used unlawfully, or whose subscription has lapsed. A school may stop using the service at any time; see the Refund & Cancellation Policy for how a paid term is affected.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If these terms change in a way that materially affects your use of the service, the "last updated" date above will change and, where appropriate, your school will be notified.
